Olivia Benson
Mariska Hargitay is best known as her character Olivia Benson from Law and Order Special Victims Unit. Aged 52, she has been married since 2004 to Peter Hermann, also an actor on the show. Together they have three children, one aged 9 and two aged 4.
The daughter of Jayne Mansfield and Mickey Hargitay, her mother was killed in a car accident when Mariska was 3 1/2 years old. She and her two brothers were in the same car but survived and were raised thereafter by their father, Mickey, and his third wife.
She was cast with Christopher Meloni in 1999 as Olivia Benson and Elliot Stabler and her role has evolved and progressed and continued over the past 16 years. Her character is likable and easy to identify with. She is an excellent actress and I enjoy watching pretty much anything she appears in.
