I love the longest day of the year.
My mom finds it depressing because she knows that every day thereafter will be shorter. To me, though, it is the culmination of the six months' before it, between Winter Solstice and Summer Solstice, where every day is a little bit longer and a bit brighter until the longest day arrives. We went for a late night walk in the fading light, grocery shopped and had some ice cream before heading home in the twilight.
Summer is officially here and I plan to enjoy every single moment and every one of those 93 days. Bring on day two...
