Spring sickness
Pretty much everyone I know is sick, so it must be spring.
The transition from winter to spring brings with it many wonderful events:
12 hours of sunshine a day
Incredibly active and noisy birds
Thawing snow
Muddy ground
That earthy smell of dirt and water
No more hats and gloves
Frequent walks
Puddles
Baby animals
Our bodies celebrate all this good news by coughing, sneezing, noses dripping, eyes full of gunk, and chest congestion.
Spring sickness is the price we pay for all these wonderful spring events. It is a price I am prepared to pay.
