It's My Party
It's my birthday today.
Despite every year making me a little bit older, I still enjoy my birthday. Last night I spent time at my brother and sister-in-law's place with my crew and my nieces having a blast playing for three hours straight. On the agenda today is hanging with my husband then picking our kids up from school and heading to my folks' place to celebrate with steak, cake and ice cream.
I share a birth date and two given names with Marilyn Monroe, born Norma Jean Mortenson on June 1, 1926. Tragically she died at age 36 so I am now older than she ever was. My godmom often says "don't get old" but think about the alternative.
Birthdays are to be celebrated. It is going to be a really good day!
