Quanto Basta

Last night I had dinner at Quanto Basta and it was just excellent.

It is a treat for me to go to dinner at an adult restaurant. Most of my meals out involve McDonalds, Tim Hortons, Egglicious or Swiss Chalet given the age of my children. In contrast, last night my husband agreed to put our children to bed so I could accompany my folks, my brother and my sister-in-law to dinner to celebrate my dad's birthday.

Our server was entertaining and animated, with lots of personality. The seating was intimate. The list of daily specials was extensive, ranging from pea and asparagus soup with creme fraiche through two types of bruschetta and numerous pastas ending with beef tenderloin. We ordered a number of appetizers.

The soup was good; the lobster was exceptional. There was zucchini stuffed with fish and bruschetta with parma ham. Everything had a dipping sauce. The calamari was perfectly done. I had no room for a main course but my mom enjoyed her provimi veal, dad his tenderloin and my sister-in-law her arctic char. I was the only one who had dessert...a flourless chocolate cake with sauce and ice cream. I finished it all and shared with no one.

The company was enjoyable and the food delicious. Thank you to my brother and sister-in-law for treating. Happy Birthday Papa!
