How many friends do you need?
Chapman University completed a survey focusing on friendship. In it, they asked 25,000 people of various ages how many friends they would expect to celebrate their birthday; how many friends they could discuss their sex life with; and how many friends they could call or text at an unusual hour if they were in trouble.
If you are in your 20s, you expected eight to ten people to celebrate your birthday whereas if you are over 30 that number dropped to five to seven people. For all age groups, there were between four and seven people you were comfortable discussing your sex life with or contacting at an unusual hour for help.
