Smugly
Having been arrogant in the past, I have found that life is good at beating you back down to size.
Smug people abound. Smugness is an ugly trait. I recently had someone tell me how good a person he was. He was immensely self satisfied and quite content with himself. And I don't happen to agree with his self-assessment. Unfortunately that level of fondness for oneself makes the people around you hope for your demise, even people that don't know you very well.
Smug Alert, Smug Alert...hope he steps in horse manure today...then falls on his behind...then fails miserably at whatever he is currently giving me advice about...
