Kind Kids

Almost a third of parents ranked kindness as the most important character trait to develop in their kids, according to a Forum Research Poll.

We strive for a kind household. We don't achieve that objective every day, but we certainly strive for it.

My eldest daughter plays hockey. She has friends on her team. What is interesting to me is her reaction to certain kids. She told me yesterday that she no longer wants to spend time with one of her teammates outside of hockey because he is not kind to her, whereas a few weeks ago she enjoyed his company. When I queried what had changed, she indicated that he now teases her all the time and makes fun of her. Hopefully he will change his behaviour towards her in future. In the meantime, I applaud her decision and hope it translates into a lifetime of choosing people who are kind to her.
