Patience...in a Hurry
Have you ever tried to rush a toddler?
My baby daughter is almost three years old. As a result, she now insists on doing everything herself. A good gauge of your level of patience is permitting someone else to struggle to do something that you could easily complete. Watching my daughter get dressed in her coat, boots, hat and gloves is one of those situations. I am so tempted to just pick her up, force her into the various items, and haul her out the door yelling at the top of her lungs...admittedly that is sometimes my modus operandi. But when I take the time to watch her choose and struggle and feel accomplished once she is done (45 minutes later), I am always equally impressed with her growing independence and frazzled because of the time it took her.
That old expression is still quite apt: Give me patience, Lord, but hurry!!
