Pumpkin Carving Good, Eating Pumpkin Seeds Bad
Pumpkin carving is a great tradition.
It began in Ireland where the pumpkins were carved to either scare away evil spirits or represent those dead people come back to life on Hallow’s Eve. North America began the practice as early as 1834.
Almost 200 years later my four children had a great time carving out this fellow. A simple but fun endeavour.
The kids did not enjoy the pumpkin seeds I cooked in the oven, mind you, declaring them “disgusting”.
Pumpkin carving is a great tradition. Cooking the pumpkin seeds is not.
